Why would you want to do that?

The CAE interface is so intuitive that Samantha can use it, and so easy to use that she'll never make a mistake. So why not force her to save the changes?

Ok, snark aside, I don't understand why this was considered acceptable. I'd rather have seen the CAE pushed back to 8.0.x while it was finished. But maybe that wasn't the choice - maybe it was between rolling out 8.0 with the current CAE and postponing 8.0 entirely. Personally, I would have argued against tying 8.0 to the CAE.
